Masai Mara Safari – Little Governors Camp

December 1st, 2012

Early in October is a lovely time of the year to visit the Mara. The massed ranks of wildebeest and zebra are usually still very much in evidence as they begin their journey south again to the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. By now the grasses have withered and been cropped short by the hungry herds. As the animals head for the Mara River there is always a chance that we might witness a river crossing at one of the animals’ favourite crossing sites. Naturally every visitor wants to see the Mara’s fabled big cats and with the plains and the thickets stripped of much of their cover the predators are more visible than ever.
